PhotoGrid WP stores every photo as a photogrid_photo custom post type with the photo set as the Featured Image and albums managed via the photo_gallery taxonomy. Galleries are rendered entirely via shortcode so they survive theme switches, editor changes, or Gutenberg updates — content lives in the database, not embedded in post content.
