Video Thumbnail Auto-Grab

About this Plugin

Scans post content for the first YouTube or Vimeo embed URL whenever a post is saved. Fetches the video's poster thumbnail from the provider API, imports it as a media attachment, and optionally sets it as the post's featured image. Stores the video ID and provider in post meta for use by themes and plugins.

Installation

1. Download the plugin ZIP file using the button on this page.
2. Go to WordPress Admin → Plugins → Add New.
3. Click Upload Plugin and select the downloaded ZIP.
4. Click Install Now then Activate Plugin.
